Over the next few months I hope to be able to add books, CD’s which complement the various courses and workshops I have the honour of leading.
The Fools Journey – Tarot for Self-Discovery
The first book you may find interesting is one which supports and extends some of the ideas explored in the Tarot Workshops. Unlike some Tarot Readers, perhaps, I believe that the Tarot is an excellent tool for self development and exploration. I would argue, as well, that there is some historical evidence to support the notion of The Tarot as a personal learning tool.
The first part of the book is a potted history of The Tarot with thoughts and ideas, supported by research, on the background the the 78 cards which are now part of the regular Tarot Deck. On this part of the journey you meet some of the famous names in Middle Age mystery traditions and modern Magic Revivalists.
The second part of the book is designed as a personal workbook with ideas about each of the major cards, suggested meditations and ways to link each to your own journey. The section om the minor cards explores as simple, yet powerful way of exploring the subtext of the stories you live.
There is a section on card layouts for personal reflection, and if it is something you wish to do, use in ‘readings’ for others.
Ramblings of a Rational Mystic
At some of my workshops I get asked what I mean by the term Rational Mystic and I frequently try to answer the question as best I can. Sometimes I am accused of having too much rationality in my mysticism and other times to much ‘fluffy stuff’ in my rationality.
This book is MEANT to be provocative and is designed to be read in small, bite size pieces. It really contains mini-essays a commentaries on things such as The Mind, The Secret, Critical Thinking, Science and the Paranormal, Near Death Experiences, Wicca and Witchcraft and so on and so forth.
I state at the start of the book that everything in it is a lie and that I may change my mind about everything I have said tomorrow. But heck, isn’t that the way when you’re learning stuff…
Nunerology – A Brief Introduction
I am really interested in mystical symbolic systems – Numerology is one of them. This book is shows you how to calculate your “personal”, “destiny” and “heart numbers” and then explore what those numbers mean. It also includes a section on Chinese Numerology for your entertainment and consideration.
Amthology One
This is a short collection of poems and short writings. They are raw, honest and personal.
Some are over 30 years old and speak of an earlier me, thinking younger things with the uncertainty of life. Some are more recent.
Some a sentimental, some are social commentary and some are just ‘odd’.
It is hoped that at least one will touch you in some way.
